I’m an 84-year-old SECOND GENERATION SIGN PAINTER.
I’m a dinosaur….a GENUINE “OLD TIME” SIGN MAN
I paint NOSTALGIC - RETRO - OLD SCHOOL SIGNS
I was raised in Southern Illinois...now living in Northern Indiana. For the last 29 years, I have been the sign painter at the Shipshewana Flea Market (the Midwest’s largest mid-week market) painting custom signs for the market, vendors and flea market visitors.
I’m there, painting signs in my sign shop (building 644 - in the center of the market) every Tues. and Wed... 8 till 5 ...May thru the end of September.
I paint every day....I’ll never retire.....I don’t believe in retiring....I don’t fish, hunt or golf….so I just paint....my Dad painted signs until he was 85….I’m just trying to catch up to him....he died at 99-and a half. I’ll tell y’all about my Dad later and post some photos of his sign work from back in the 40’s & 50’s.
I enjoy painting as much as other folks enjoys drowning fishing worms or running around all over the fields and woods looking for a little bitty lost white ball…..I enjoy what I’m doing.....so...I‘ll continue painting signs till I die!
I'LL KEEP ADDING MORE SIGNS ON THIS PAGE
ALL ARE ORIGINALS...
NO MASS REPRODUCED SIGNS!
