Ilona Fekete was born in a small town in Hungary, in 1953. The daughter of a farmer, Ilona Fekete developed her love of traditional Hungarian crafts such as crocheting and fine needlepoint and embroidery, which were passed down through the generations. After moving to Canada at the age of 16, Ilona married and had 3 daughters. While raising a family, she also developed her love of painting. Now semi-retired, Ilona spends her time painting everyday scenes from her past. With bold colors and whimsical simplicity, she paints rustic scenes that tell a story. Currently, she works from her home studio in British Columbia.
Ilona says: “I Love to paint happy paintings just to make people SMILE!”
