LOTZA THINGS HAPPENING in the FOLK ART SCENE We're happy to see many shows, museums and galleries coming back to life. Hopefully in a another year the country will be completely open and artists will be making money again. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JESSIE LAVON….the Southern sharecropper's daughter Just talked yesterday with Jessie Lavon, bless her heart, that poor lady has had more health problems than anyone should have to endure. She said that she has some surprise expenses, and said that we should run a sale on her artwork. All of her great memory paintings are priced at $225……she said “give ‘em 40% OFF.” That means $90.ºº OFF.....That's Just $135ºº each + s/h -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KENTUCK (that's NOT in Kentucky) FOLK ART CENTER They're “BACK to BUSINESS” Speaking about Jessie…she currently has a showing in the KENTUCK FOLK ART GALLERY in Northport, AL till the end of July. Last year the celebration was cancelled because of the pandemic. Minnie has been as excited as a kid with a new toy, looking forward to this year’s art show and sale. We’re all praying for good weather and a good turnout of artists and collectors to honor this great lady. Here in Possum County we’ve been “sold out“ of Minnie’s paintings and carvings since NPR featured her interview several weeks ago….we’re looking forward to getting new art from her….after “Minnie Day”. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
